GRIMES/SEAN NICHOLAS SAVAGE/DOLDRUMS at SXSW

It's been snowing and raining all day, but let us not forget the warm Texan sun and the icy margaritas. Here's a whole lot of SXSW memoribilia, from a series of instant pictures, to the three SXSW tour videos and soon, a special mix of the hot tracks we drove, windows rolled down and shirts off to, from Alabama gas stations, to NASA launch pads to Illinois motels to Detroit bowling alleys...

POP is here!

I woke up feeling like it's Christmas and that's because Pop Montreal is here! Now I'm drinking coffee and getting my schedule ready for tonight while listening to this HOT TRACK- D'Eon covering Swans' Children of God via Daily Print. A daily publication Palimpsest Magazine & Art POP will co-publish at DHC / ART throughout the festival. Listen to it here.

In other news, if you're in town this week- Arbutus big cheese Sebastian Cowan will be part of a discussion alongside Sean Michaels (Said the Gramophone), Jesse Locke (Planet Tapes, Texture Magazine), Aaron Levin (Weird Canada, Cantor Records) as part of the Pop Montreal Symposium' Growing Hobby Labels !

"When your obsession becomes a necessary venture. We take a look at what drives the music collector and appreciator to venture into distribution on a small scale, and where it can go from there."
